Senate polls milestone in democratic process: Ahsan

Islamabad, March 03, 2018 (PPI-OT): Elected representatives have described timely holding of Senate elections as a step toward strengthening of democracy in the country. Talking to media persons in Islamabad today, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Senate elections is yet another milestone in the democratic process. He said conspiracy theories of failed politicians about Senate elections have vanished.

Talking to PTV, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb today marks a historic day for Pakistan as Senate elections are taking place on time. In an interview, Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani said prosperity of the people is linked to the democratic system.

Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah said polling for Senate is underway in a peaceful environment and whatever the decision is it will be accepted. Pakistan Muslim League-Zia Chief Ijaz-ul-Haq said Senate elections is a giant step towards strengthening of democracy.
