Islamabad: A significant signature campaign was launched today at the National Press Club under the guidance of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell and the Kashmir Committee, targeting the Indian government’s occupation and actions in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the campaign was inaugurated by Engineer Amir Muqam, the Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The event drew notable figures, including former Prime Ministers of Azad Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, as well as Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Convener of the Hurriyat Conference, and Mushahid Hussain Syed, former Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
During the event, speakers denounced the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by the Indian government on August 5, 2019. They called for international attention to the ongoing human rights violations in the region. Minister Muqam emphasized that the international community could not ignore the plight of the Kashmiri people, who are determined to achieve their right to self-determination.
The campaign is part of a broader effort to inform the global community about the situation in Kashmir and to rally support against India’s attempts to alter the demographic and cultural landscape of the region. Minister Muqam highlighted that the initiative serves to voice a strong rejection of India’s illegal actions and the perceived threat to the Muslim identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
