Sikhs Stage Protest in Front of Indian Embassy in Washington

Washington D.C, A significant gathering of Sikhs staged a protest in front of the Indian Embassy in Washington, expressing their opposition to the Indian government’s policies. The protesters, vocal in their discontent, marched around the embassy, chanting slogans against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and decrying the alleged atrocities committed against farmers in India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the demonstrators emphasized their demand for the establishment of Khalistan, a sovereign state for Sikhs, as a means to secure Punjab’s independence from India. The protest saw Sikh demonstrators waving Khalistan flags and notably hoisting one atop the statue of Mahatma Gandhi situated within the premises of the Indian Embassy.

The demonstration highlights the ongoing tensions and the call for attention to the grievances of the Sikh community regarding their treatment in India and the broader issues related to farmers’ rights and regional autonomy.
