Sindh Health Minister takes notice of shortage of female doctors at Lyari General Hospital

Karachi, November 05, 2015 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, while taking notice of shortage of Women Medical Officers at Lyari General Hospital, has directed Secretary Health to look into the matter and fulfill the vacant posts of female medical officers in order to facilitate female patients. This he said while presiding over a meeting here at his office on Thursday. He said that government hospitals were meant to provide timely medical facilitates to the patients and he would not allow anyone to create problems for the patients.

Minister health added, ‘Disciplinary proceedings are underway against 07 doctors and they have been suspended while action is also being taken against 09 lady health supervisors of district Khairpur due to their negligence in disposing off their duties.’ He said that the government was contemplating to hire services of celebrities against viral diseases to create awareness among masses and it would bring good results as well.’
