Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority to set up SME Pavilion at 12th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation trade fair to be held at Lahore Expo Center

Lahore, November 27, 2015 (PPI-OT): The small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) is going to set up an SME Pavilion at 12th SAARC Trade Fair and 9th WEXNET-2015 to be held at Lahore Expo Center from December 4th to 6th. Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer, SMEDA will inaugurate the SME Pavilion, which is comprised of multiple stalls of the women entrepreneurs to be arranged under patronage and facilitation of SMEDA on December 4, 2015.

SMEDA- organized -Pavilion is displaying products produced by the women entrepreneurs working outside Lahore. The major products to be displayed in SME Pavilion relates to Textile, Leather, Interior Designing, Jewellery, hand-made embroidery, Cosmetics and Handicrafts.

One of the stalls of SME Pavilion is being developed as facilitation center for the exhibitors, which will also be equipped to provide the visitors with information on SMEDA’s current initiatives including Prime Minister Youth Business Loan, SME Club, Women Business Development Centers and the business development services available at SMEDA.

CEO SMEDA Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, while commenting on SMEDA participation in WEXNET, has informed that the government of Pakistan is keen to let the women play active role in economy of Pakistan. Towing the mandate of government, SMEDA has set up a Women Entrepreneurship Development Cell within the organization, apart from the establishment of women development centres in major metropolis of the country.

He observed that being associated with the SAARC Trade Fair this year; the WEXNET has opened up marketing opportunities for the local women entrepreneurs in Pakistan at par with an international exhibition. That is why, SMEDA has facilitated a fresh lot of women entrepreneurs to participate in the exhibition, he added.

This is notable that the WEXNET-2015 is the 9th annual episode under aegis of the Trade Development Authority, Pakistan, which has been associated this year with 12th SAARC Trade Fair opening on December 4 and ending on December 6, 2015.
