London, September 28, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of International Chamber for Peace and Conciliation, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl has hailed the speech of Pakistan Prime Minister Mohammed Nawaz Sharif at the United Nations General Assembly.
Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl in a statement issued in London said that the speech was as a timely reminder to the UN and international community to seriously address Kashmir dispute and bring an end to the sufferings of the people of occupied Kashmir where women were the worst sufferers.
Shawl said that Nawaz Sharif had rightly lamented the negligence of the UN, which had failed to implement its own resolutions on Kashmir, adding that he had also rightly pointed out the dividends of peace by cancellation of foreign secretary level talks between India and Pakistan on flimsy grounds, which indicated Indian negative attitude to towards peace process.
He hoped that UN would unfold a grand initiative to strengthen regional peace in South Asia by addressing the core issue of Kashmir as pointed out by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Kashmiri aspirations should be of paramount importance.
