Srinagar equals hottest June day record in decade as mercury soars to 35°C

Srinagar, June 23, 2023 (PPI-OT): The scorching weather conditions continued unrelenting in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as Srinagar experienced its hottest day of the season and equaled warmest June day, today, in a decade. A meteorological department official in Srinagar told the media that the maximum temperature in Srinagar amplified to 35.0°C and it was 5.8°C above normal for the season.

Today’s temperature surpassed the previous highest of 34.8°C recorded only yesterday and it equaled the warmest day in June in a decade, he said. The official said barring 3 June 2018 when mercury had also increased to 35.0°C, never in a decade the mercury has soared to such scale in the summer capital of IIOJK previously.
