Sugar Mills crushing season prices announced

Peshawar: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed that the occupiers of Premier Sugar Mills Mardan, Khazana Sugar Mills Peshawar, Bannu Sugar Mills Serai Naurang, Chashma Sugar Mills D.I.Khan, Tandlianwala Sugar Mills Mirn, D.I.Khan, Chashma Sugar Mills (Extension) Ramak D.I.Khan and Almoiz Sugar Mills D.I.Khan shall, for the slicing/crushing season 2012 pay the minimum support price of sugar beet / sugar cane per 40 Kg at the factory gate as Rs. 145/- and Rs. 150/- respectively and at the farmers field as Rs. 145/- and Rs. 150/- per 40 Kg minus transportation charges as fixed by the government vide notification of 16-5-2006.

Moreover, in addition to the minimum price for 2011-12 crushing season, quality premium to the growers be paid by Occupiers @ Rs. 0.50 per 40 Kg of cane for each 0.1 % sucrose recovery over and above 8.5% in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was notified by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Department here today.
