Tragic Stampede at Hindu Religious Event Claims Over 100 Lives in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: A devastating stampede during a Hindu prayer meeting in Uttar Pradesh resulted in over 100 deaths, predominantly among women, and injured around 150 attendees.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred at a satsang attended by around 10,000 people in a village under the jurisdiction of Sikandra Rao police station in Hathras. The District Magistrate of Hathras, Ashish Kumar, confirmed the fatalities and noted that many of the injured were being treated at local hospitals. Eyewitness accounts describe chaotic scenes with many people lying unconscious at the event site and a shortage of ambulances to transport the injured to medical facilities.
