Islamabad: Vice Admiral Ibrahim Ozdem KOÇER, Chief of Staff of the Turkish Naval Forces Command, led a delegation to the Pakistan Naval Headquarters for the 6th Expert Level Staff Talks between the Pakistan Navy and the Turkish Navy. The discussions aimed to deepen operational, training, and technical cooperation between the two forces.
According to Pakistan Navy announcement issued on 03 August 2024, upon arrival, Vice Admiral KOÇER was welcomed by Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff. The Turkish delegation met with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan, where they exchanged views on a range of professional matters and collaborative security initiatives. The visiting Admiral commended the Pakistan Navy’s efforts in contributing to regional maritime security, highlighting its roles in Combined Task Forces 150 and 151 and the conduct of Exercise AMAN and Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP).
The staff talks addressed various aspects of naval collaboration, with both sides acknowledging the strong bilateral ties and exploring further avenues for joint initiatives, including the joint production and upgradation of naval platforms and systems. The discussions underscored the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey, with both navies looking to enhance their strategic partnership.
