Karachi: Two Pakistani startups have been chosen to join Google’s inaugural AI Academy for Asia-Pacific, marking a significant step in regional AI development. The startups, AdalFi and Adlytic AI, are part of a select group of 23 from across the region participating in the program which aims to accelerate AI innovation and business growth through extensive mentorship and support. The program includes a three-day bootcamp in Singapore and offers up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits among other resources.
According to Google, the AI Academy, which started this week in Singapore, brings together founders from seven countries to enhance their AI solutions. The program provides over 170 hours of mentorship from experts in AI and Cloud technologies. Pakistani startup AdalFi is working on an AI-powered credit scoring system to broaden financial services, while Adlytic AI focuses on advancing retail analytics through intelligent CCTV technology.
“We’re excited to kick off Google’s first AI Academy in APAC,” stated Michael Kim, Head of Google for Startups in the region. He noted the diverse applications of AI being pursued by the startups, from expanding financial and healthcare services to innovating in legal and marketing sectors. The program aims to drive a wave of innovation across Asia-Pacific, impacting various challenges through the power of AI.
The culmination of the AI Academy will be a Graduation Day in December, where participants will present their enhanced AI solutions to an audience of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.
