U.S. Ambassador Blome Highlights Inclusion at PUAN Job Fair and Khadija Tul Kubra Awards in Islamabad


Islamabad, U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, emphasized the importance of equity, accessibility, and inclusion in the workplace during the first-ever Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) Accessibility and Inclusion Job Fair and the fifth Khadija Tul Kubra Awards Ceremony. The event, held shortly after Eid celebrations, brought together business leaders, job seekers, and advocates for inclusivity.



According to Consulate General of Pakistan – Toronto, Ambassador Blome praised the efforts of the event organizers from PUAN, STEP, and the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan. He acknowledged the hard work of specific team members, including Abia, Atif, Rita, and Syed Moeez Ud Din, for making the program a success.



The Ambassador highlighted the critical role that inclusive employment practices play in community and economic development. He noted that jobs are more than just a means to earn a living; they are part of a larger mission to contribute positively to society. Ambassador Blome reiterated the U.S. Embassy’s commitment to these principles, proudly mentioning the participation of their Human Resources Office in the event to recruit inclusively and accessibility-minded individuals.



Furthermore, Ambassador Blome congratulated the recipients of the Khadija Tul Kubra Awards, who have made significant advancements in advocating for mental healthcare, accessible public facilities, and local and national policy improvements. He emphasized the impact of their work in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities not only in Pakistan but also regionally and in the United States.



The event underscored the ongoing commitment of the U.S. Mission in Pakistan to support and partner with local initiatives that aim to foster a more inclusive society. Ambassador Blome encouraged attendees to explore opportunities for collaboration with the U.S. Mission to continue their important work.
