United Business Group Sindh Region Convenes Core Committee Meeting in Karachi

Karachi, The United Business Group (UBG) of the Sindh Region successfully concluded its Core Committee Meeting yesterday. The meeting, chaired by Khalid Tawab, Chairman of UBG Sindh Region, focused on the upcoming Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) elections and challenges facing the business community.

According to United Business Group, the meeting in Karachi saw the participation of prominent leaders including Zubair Tufail, President of UBG, and Hanif Gohar, Secretary-General of UBG. The session was attended by key figures such as Sami Khan, Syed Mazher Nasir, Abdul Haseeb Khan, Engineer Daroo Khan, Mumtaz Ali Shaikh, Dr. Mirza Ikhtair Baig, Allauddin Marri, Waheed Ahmed, Tariq Haleem, Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Ibrahim Shah, and Mian Zahid Hussain.

The meeting welcomed members from the BMPP group, including Saqib Fayyaz Magoon, a joint candidate for the SVP seat in the upcoming FPCCI elections for 2024-25, along with VP candidates Khurram Ejaz and Asif Inam. Both groups committed to working together to address the challenges in the FPCCI elections and to reinforce the FPCCI as a genuine apex body. They emphasized their resolve to combat counterfeit trade bodies that have negatively impacted the reputation of legitimate trade organizations in Pakistan.

Khalid Tawab highlighted the unity of UBG and its allies against negative tactics by opponents in the election process, applauding the apex court’s success in eliminating bogus trade bodies, crediting the UBG leadership of Balochistan, including Engineer Daroo Khan, Haji Jamaluddin, and Asfar Yarmondokhail. Hanif Gohar underscored the need for increased networking with trade bodies to garner collective support amid economic challenges.

Zubair Tufail acknowledged the significance of the BMPP’s alliance with UBG, while Saquib Fayyaz Magoon and Khurram Ejaz expressed their dedication to positive change in the upcoming election. The meeting also involved discussions on various economic issues, such as challenges to the business community and export-related matters, with a consensus on developing comprehensive strategies for export promotion and tax net expansion.

The meeting was also attended by other notable figures including Ghazanfer Ali Khan, Moben Siddiqui, Gulzar Feroze, Ikram Rajput, Arshad Jamal, Sharik, Adnan Qadri, Dr. Shahzad Arshad, Faisal Baig, Abdul Qadir, Shakeel Ahmed, Muhammad Zaman, Muslim Mohammadi, Naheed Masud, Maryam Chaudhary, Shaheen Sarwana, and Irfan Sarwana, Farhan A Qadir, and Javed Iqbal, reflecting a collective commitment to addressing business challenges and fostering the growth of the business community.
