United States Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan’s visit concludes

Islamabad, April 25, 2014 (PPI-OT): U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador James Dobbins concluded his visit to Pakistan today following a series of meetings with senior Pakistani leaders. He met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Policy and National Security Sartaj Aziz, and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to discuss a wide range of bilateral topics and mutual interests concerning the region.

Ambassador Dobbins appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Pakistani leadership. In his meetings, he reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to enhancing its relations with Pakistan, discussed opportunities for bilateral coordination to promote regional stability, and explored ways for the United States and Pakistan may forge a stronger partnership by working together to achieve common objectives.
