Meezan Bank Becomes Pakistan’s First to Achieve PCI 3DS Certification

Karachi, Meezan Bank has been certified by Risk Associates as Pakistan’s first bank compliant with the Payment Card Industry Three Domain Secure (PCI 3DS) standard. This certification establishes Meezan Bank, a leading Islamic financial institution in the country, as a pioneer in securing online transactions against fraud.

According to Meezan Bank Limited, the certification ceremony took place at Meezan House in Karachi, where Aziz A. Rahim, Chief Operating Officer of Risk Associates, awarded the PCI 3DS Certificate of Compliance to key members of Meezan Bank’s team. The certification underscores Meezan Bank’s commitment to maintaining robust security protocols and ensuring safe digital transaction environments for its customers.

The PCI 3DS standard, governed by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, adds an extra layer of security for online credit and debit card transactions by authenticating a cardholder with their issuer at the time of transaction. This milestone for Meezan Bank follows a comprehensive evaluation of its systems to ensure alignment with the PCI 3DS requirements.
