Uprising sent strong message to India, world

Srinagar, November 28, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the freedom uprising has sent a strong and a very clear message to India and the world that the people of Kashmir will never rest until they become masters of their destiny.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview in Srinagar said that over 140 days of continued protest with wholehearted participation of people had no parallel in the contemporary world. He advised India that when people were committed, then oppression would only act as a unifying and reinvigorating force, and not as a deterrent. He maintained that the people of Kashmir would rise time and again till their political aspirations and sentiments were fulfilled.

Senior Hurriyet leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt in a media interview in Srinagar said that unresolved Kashmir dispute was a danger to the stability of not only South Asia but other countries around the region, as well.

The Dukhtaran-e-Millat General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a statement issued in Srinagar criticized the puppet regime for not providing basic facilities to party Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi and her spouse Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo in jails.

Meanwhile, normal life remained affected, today, due to shutdown against unrelenting oppression unleashed by India in the territory. Shops, fuel stations and other business establishments and educational institutions were closed, while traffic movement remained suspended in all small and major towns across the Valley.

The family of illegally detained APHC General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmad Shah visited the residence of pellet-hit Insha Mushtaq and adopted her, formally. Insha has lost her eyesight after she was hit in both eyes with pellets fired by Indian forces during the current uprising.
