Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan Views are divided on whether through postal ballots or via internet will increase voter turn-out. More than 50% are skeptical.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Imagine that there’s a facility to vote via internet. In your opinion will the voter turn-out increase or will there be no difference?” Responding to this 38% believe that the vote bank will increase with the facility to vote via internet whereas 51% believe it will make no difference. However 11% did not give a view.
Question: “Imagine that there’s a facility to vote via internet. In your opinion will the voter turnout increase or will there be no difference?”
In a related survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked: “Imagine that there’s a facility to vote through postal ballot.
In your opinion will the voter turnout increase or will there be no difference? Responding to this 30% believe that the vote bank will increase with the facility to vote through post whereas 55% believe it will make no difference. However 15% did not give a view.
Question: “Imagine that there’s a facility to vote through postal ballot. In your opinion will the voter turn-out increase or will there be no difference?”
