Wall Collapse in Bannu Results in Casualty and Injuries Amid Rainfall

Bannu: Heavy rainfall in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led to the tragic collapse of walls in residential buildings, resulting in the death of a young child and injuries to another, along with significant property damage.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority, the incidents occurred on August 15, 2024, affecting residents in Tehsil Miryan and Tehsil Bannu. The collapse claimed the life of 7-8-year-old Taswor Khan from Sokari Hassan Khel, and injured 6-7-year-old Okash, also from Sokari Hassan Khel. The damage extended to the homes of Azad and Ijaz Khan, where boundary walls were destroyed.

The PDMA is currently assessing the full extent of the damage and coordinating relief efforts to support affected families. This event underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the region during heavy rainfalls, highlighting the need for improved infrastructure and disaster preparedness.
