We want Heavy Mechanical Complex to be a centre of excellence: Ch. Anwar Ali Cheema

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Production, Ch. Anwar Ali Cheema has stated that Heavy Mechanical Complex is a valuable national asset and the Ministry of Production is committed to make it a centre of excellence.

“There must be a complete transparency in all the affairs of the HMC. I want the rule of merit within the Ministry and in all of its attached departments”, the Minister remarked.

While chairing a meeting with the Board of Directors of the HMC, the Minister appreciated the performance of the Company. Moreover, the Minister directed the management to achieve higher targets during the upcoming years. He emphasized on the importance of Human Resource Development and allowed trainee engineers to be inducted in various disciplines of engineering.

The Managing Director (MD) of HMC, MR Ashraf Butt apprised the Board of the performance of the Company. The MD informed that all the indicators of sales, production and profit have registered and increasing trend.

“The Company has achieved the highest ever sales target by securing the orders worth RS. 2102 million by the year ending on 30th June 2011” the MD told. Moreover, the Board was informed that the HMC has achieved the highest production capacity for the last five years.
