‘While celebrating Eid, we shall not forget our brothers and sisters who due to poverty are not able to take part in Eid festivities’

Abu Dhabi, August 19, 2012 (PPI-OT): “While celebrating Eid, we shall not forget our brothers and sisters who due to poverty are not able to take part in Eid festivities. We have to help them to mitigate their feeling of deprivation”, said Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan while addressing the community at an open house meeting and greeting arranged at the Embassy after Eid-ul-Fitr prayer.

Ambassador Khan said that our fellow citizens who are living below poverty line shall be helped by all of us. He further said that on the blessed day of Eid-ul-Fitr, we shall vow to look after our less fortunate brethren. “Ramadan is a month of blessings. It teaches us moderation and brotherhood. Allah will reward us only if we help our brothers and sisters in fulfilling their needs”, he added.

A large number of community members from different walks of life attended the open house meeting. Ambassador Khan greeted everyone Eid individually. All officers and staff of the Embassy were also present there.

Ambassador Khan encouraged community members to send their remittances by legal channels only as the government as well the embassy has offered many preferences and facilities in this regard.
