Srinagar, January 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has appealed to the international community to come forward in a big way and play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.Syed Ali Gilani chairing a meeting of his party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir, in Srinagar, today, said that the Kashmiri people had rendered unparalleled sacrifices for achieving their inalienable right to self-determination. He deplored that India was using brute force to suppress the Kashmiris’ peaceful liberation movement.
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders, Zafar Akbar Butt and Javed Ahmed Mir, addressing public gatherings in different areas of Handwara and Kupwara reaffirmed the resolve of Kashmiri people to continue the ongoing movement till complete success.
They called upon the world human rights organisations to take cognizance of gross human rights abuses perpetrated by Indian troops and police personnel in the occupied territory.
APHC leader, Musadiq Aadil, addressing a gathering at Aadhipora in Sopore said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute was essential for ensuring permanent peace in South Asia.
The Chief of Jammu Kashmir Mass Movement, Farida Behanji, in a statement in Srinagar said that the UN resolutions provided a just, democratic and workable solution to the conflict over Kashmir.
The Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, Zamruda Habib, in her statement paid glowing tributes to dozens of Kashmiris who were killed by Indian troops in Gow Kadal area of Srinagar during a demonstration on January 21 in 1990.
Senior Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Mir Shahid Saleem, addressing a party meeting in Jammu said that India’s military might had failed to break the Kashmiris’ determination to get rid of illegal Indian occupation on their homeland.
