Multan, January 18, 2017 (PPI-OT): Khawaja Muhammad Younus Chairman All Pakistan Bedsheets and Upholstery Manufacturers Association appreciated the Prime Minister for taking a bold step on announcing Rs. 180 billion export led growth initiative for the Textile Export sector of Pakistan. The Textile Package includes duty free import of Cotton and man made Greige Fabrics, besides duty Drawback on export of Yarns /Fabrics 4 percent processed Fabrics 5% Home Textile and Made ups 6% and on Garments 7% on FOB Value.
He also lauds the role of Main Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Chief Minister Punjab, Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar and Mr. Khuram Dastgir who briefed the facts on declining exports day by day and suggested and recommended various measures to boost exports.
Chairman APBUMA expressed concern over the increasing trade deficit and hoped that Rs,180 billion Textile industry revival Package will give boost to the Country’s exports and positive results would be in the obvious within a next Six months with the availability of business friendly Scenario against competitors .
Kh. Muhammad Younus also appreciated and acknowledge the services of S.M. Muneer Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for playing instrumental role in the Textile Package. He expected that the incentive and support to the exporters would definitely address the challenges being faced by this important sector. He further said it was right time to announce the Package as majority of exporters of Bedlinens ,Made ups and Home Textile and Garments were participating a world renowned Haimtextile Fair to fetch the export orders for the whole year.
He thanked the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and hope that this Package will lead to increase in exports, reduction cost of doing business, and new employment opportunities.
