Karachi: Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed has directed all departmental heads to ensure checking of attendance of officers and other staff on a daily basis and take disciplinary action against those who did not attend their duty without any information. He said this during a surprised visit of different departments located in Civic Center.
Administrator Karachi during this visit went to various offices including office of Land Department KDA Wing and enquired about the pending files there. He also listened to the complaints of the people visiting this office and issued on the spot directive for their redressal.
On this occasion Administrator KMC directed to compile a full record of those officers who were not attending their duty and instead of solving the public problems getting their salaries and perks while sitting at home.
He said that he will frequently inspect any office without prior intimation and the officials found guilty of committing negligence will have to face departmental action including suspension of service. He further said that such officers will be relieved from their duty and legal action will be taken against them.
Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed said that the officers and their subordinates especially those who deals with the public must observe punctuality and attend their office regularly or they will have to face disciplinary action.
He said serving the citizens and solve their problems was the basic responsibility of KMC and in order to fulfil this responsibility all the officers and subordinate staff should do their duty in an excellent way.
Administrator KMC also directed KMC officers to ensure energy conservation by allowing only necessary usage of electricity. He said meetings to review the pace of work on solar energy usage in KMC parks, play grounds and buildings will be held each month.
