Karachi, October 20, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has while welcoming the International World Eleven Cricket Team on its visit to Karachi for playing two twenty 20 matches series against the Pakistan All Stars Eleven expressed hope that this tour would change the international view point about Pakistan by sending this message to rest of the world that Pakistan was a peaceful country for cricket and the people here love this game.
Speaking at the reception held by KMC in honour of the visiting team he also thanked the organizers of cricket series especially the provincial minister Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah for holding the matches in Karachi. He called this a good omen that the holding of these matches in Karachi would pave the way for restoration of international cricket in Pakistan.
The reception was attended by provincial minister Rafiq Engineer, Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan, Manager International Eleven Alvin Kallicharan, Organizers, Secretary KCCA Prof. Aijaz Farooqui, Media Representatives and KMC Officers.
Administrator Karachi said the expressions of World Eleven captain Sanath Jaysurya were encouraging who after reaching Karachi for the tour said he found Karachi a peaceful and secure city for cricket and the people here loves and understand the game of cricket. He expressed hope that this visit of international world eleven would prove memorable for them and they would have best of hospitality in the city of the founder of the country.
Administrator Karachi said though hockey was our national sport, the game of cricket was also very popular here and was played in each and every corner and nook of the country. The Manger of International World Eleven former West Indian Test Cricketer Alvin Kallicharan while calling his tour of Karachi as the most memorable event in his sporting carrier thanked the local administration and the people of Karachi for extending best hospitality for his team.
He said he had been visiting Karachi earlier but this tour has a purpose to help and support Pakistan in its effort for restoration of international cricket here. He said his team also supports and desired that the emerging young players in Pakistan gets maximum opportunity to show their talent.
The organizer of International World Eleven thanked all the team members and officials of his team for touring Pakistan and expressed hope that the series would prove sensational and interesting.
