All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association demands of the government to end discrimination with Punjab in electricity, gas and Compressed Natural Gas supply to the province

Lahore, January 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) has demanded of the government to end discrimination with Punjab in electricity, gas and CNG supply to the Punjab otherwise Punjab people would make accountability of the present regime in the national general elections.

In a press statement issued here Tuesday, APPMA leader Khamis Saeed Butt, President Muhammad Ajmal and Vice President Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen said that though the federal government was elected with the votes of all provinces but it has targeted Punjab and taking revenge due to reasons unknown.

He said that line losses, electricity and gas theft in Punjab is far less than the other provinces but it is a sheer injustice that Punjab is facing horrible electricity, gas and CNG load shedding while Sindh was getting all of these with an ignorable interruption.

They said that Punjab trade and industry condition was already fragile massive gas and electricity load shedding for the Punjab industry would be the last nail in the coffin.

APPMA leaders said that thousands industrial units were closed due to discrimination with Punjab and suspension of gas supply to the Punjab industry. He said that during the tenure of present regime, million industrial workers have lost their jobs, their families are facing troubles but federal government is busy to peruse its political interests.

They said that the destruction would not limited to the Punjab level but national economy would also feel the heat as the most of export-oriented industries were situated in the Punjab and most revenues were also being paid by the Punjab businessmen. Now Punjab industry is being closed and businessmen are on the verge of default.
