APHC-AJK Organizes Condolence Reference in Islamabad

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a condolence reference today in Islamabad, remembering Muhammad Iqbal Rather, father-in-law of detained APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was chaired by APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Mohammad Safi. Attendees mourned the recent death of Muhammad Iqbal Rather, who passed in a Srinagar hospital. The reference highlighted the continued detention of Shabbir Ahmad Shah by Indian authorities, emphasizing the denial of his participation in his father-in-law’s last rites as evidence of democratic deficits in India.

The gathering also remembered victims of a recent bus accident from Rawalpindi to Azad Patan, Azad Kashmir, and paid tribute to those affected by violence in Balochistan. Prominent Hurriyat leaders including Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, and others expressed solidarity with bereaved families and criticized the ongoing political situation.
