APHC Pledges to Continue Struggle for Securing Right to Self-Determination

Srinagar, In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has reaffirmed the commitment of the Kashmiris to continue their political struggle until the Kashmir dispute is resolved as per the relevant United Nations resolutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement in Srinagar, emphasized that the people of Kashmir are engaged in a peaceful struggle to secure their political rights, in line with UN resolutions. However, he stated that the Modi-led Indian government is employing harsh tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ voice.

He mentioned that Indian forces are killing Kashmiris in so-called cordon and search operations and arresting them on false charges for demanding their right to self-determination. Thousands of people are held in various jails across India and IIOJK, with the Indian government using draconian laws to prolong their detention, he added.

The list of detainees includes APHC chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Maulvi Bashir Ahmed, Bilal Siddiqi, Ameer Hamza, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Dr Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Dr Hameed Fayaz, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, and others.

Despite the brutality and machinations of the Indian government, the Kashmiri people remain resolute in their quest for freedom from New Delhi’s rule, Minhas noted. He criticized the Indian Lok Sabha election in IIOJK as a ploy to mislead the world about the reality of the situation in the territory.

The APHC urged the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the European Union (EU), and G20 countries to press India to grant Kashmiris the right to determine their political future as outlined in UN resolutions, emphasizing that this step is crucial for peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Asian region.
