Balochistan Chief Minister orders strict enforcement of mining safety after deadly incident

Quetta, In response to a tragic accident at the Sanjadi coal mine that resulted in the deaths of 11 people, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has ordered an immediate review of safety protocols. The Chief Minister expressed profound regret for the lives lost and criticized the inadequate safety measures currently in place at the region’s coal mines.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Chief Minister Bugti has directed the Secretary of the Mines Department to enforce strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the mining sector. He emphasized the need for accountability and mandated that mine owners who fail to comply with safety standards face severe penalties. This directive aims to prevent further loss of life and improve the safety conditions for mine workers in the region.

The Chief Minister also conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims, affirming the government’s commitment to enhancing mine safety and ensuring such incidents do not recur.
