Balochistan Minister Emphasizes Transparency and Accountability in Development Projects

Quetta, Provincial Minister of Communications and Construction Mir Salim Ahmad Khosa reaffirmed the Balochistan government’s commitment to prioritizing development projects in the province. The minister underscored the need to ensure high standards and transparency in all ongoing projects during a departmental briefing by the Department of Communications and Construction.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Khosa received the briefing from Secretary Communications and Construction Qamber Dashti. The meeting also included Additional Secretary Amir Hamza Zehri, Chief Engineer Design Dr. Sajjad Baloch, and other officials. Dashti outlined the current state of roads in the province, noting that out of 50,000 kilometers of roads, 24,000 kilometers are paved. He also highlighted funding delays that slow down project completion, causing significant challenges for the department.

Khosa expressed the importance of solid infrastructure for Balochistan’s development, emphasizing that ensuring high standards and transparency in all projects is a top priority. He mentioned that a detailed progress report on development projects is conducted every three months to monitor their status and address any issues.

The provincial minister stated that he would not tolerate any negligence regarding development projects and that strict measures would be implemented to ensure accountability. He said that a strong monitoring team would be formed to oversee the completion of development projects. Khosa indicated that officers found negligent would face departmental action, emphasizing that no tolerance would be given to those compromising the quality of ongoing projects.

Khosa concluded by stressing that only the best teams would be selected to complete the projects swiftly and resolve any arising issues. He declared that the time for leniency had passed, and strict action would be taken against those who hinder the province’s development and prosperity.
