BJYM Launches Campaign to Boycott Halal Products in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a new campaign spearheaded by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), a Hindutva group, calls for a boycott of halal products have resonated through Hyderabad, with activists urging the local Hindu community to reject these products.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the BJYM has initiated this campaign by distributing posters at various temples within Hyderabad. These posters, championed by Rakshit Sagar Rachakonda, a prominent BJYM leader and RSS member, carry the message: “Dear Hindus, Say No to Halal Products.” Rachakonda announced the campaign on social media, encouraging Hindus to avoid halal products, particularly during festival times, under the banner of Shri Kesri Hanuman Yuva Sangathan.

The campaign reflects a broader trend among BJP affiliates targeting halal products. Notably, in Uttar Pradesh, actions have included the prohibition of halal product certifications and the apprehension of leaders from the Muslim community involved in providing such certifications.

This focused effort by Hindutva groups in various Indian states, now including Telangana, has sparked concerns over potential increases in communal tension and discrimination against the Muslim population.
