Lahore: A ceremony was held at the Central Police Office to honor 16 retired Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from the Punjab Police. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, expressed gratitude to the retirees for their contributions to the police department.
According to Punjab Police, the ceremony included a meeting between the retired officers and Dr. Anwar, who emphasized the importance of implementing an automated system to leverage the experience of retired officers. He stressed the need for resolving pension and GP Fund issues promptly and highlighted the priority given to the health and educational welfare of retired police employees and their families. Dr. Anwar also mentioned that retired officers could play an essential role in training the force on matters of law and order, technical skills, and investigations. He noted their potential contributions to combating terrorism and extremism.
The retired officers, including Manzoor Ahmad, Khalid Qureshi, and others, expressed their gratitude to Dr. Anwar for the recognition. The event was attended by several other high-ranking police officials, including Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry and Additional IG Patrolling Abdul Karim.
