Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Advocates for Religious Harmony on International Day in Support of Victims of Torture

Lahore: On the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif delivered a poignant message condemning violence based on religious beliefs, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to religious harmony and the protection of minorities.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, CM Sharif highlighted the global issue of religiously motivated violence, particularly pointing to the plight of Muslims facing growing Islamophobia, as well as longstanding sufferings in regions like Kashmir and Palestine. She stressed that no religion advocates violence and that the very essence of Pakistan’s flag symbolizes the nation’s unity and respect for all faiths.

The Chief Minister reiterated the Punjab Government’s dedication to enforcing strict measures against those inciting sectarian violence and affirmed the administration’s efforts to foster a culture of tolerance and brotherhood. Sharif’s call to action urged citizens to actively oppose discrimination and contribute to a peaceful society.
