Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Orders Strict Enforcement of Fixed Fares Post-Eid

Lahore, In a decisive move to ensure fair transportation costs following the Eid holidays, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued directives for strict adherence to fixed bus fares across multiple cities. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of action against overcharging, vehicle fitness checks, and compliance with traffic rules to protect passenger safety and rights.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the enforcement campaign has kicked off with Deputy Commissioners leading inspections at bus stations in Lahore, Khanewal, Multan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Leh. These officials are actively monitoring fare compliance, ensuring that bus staff adhere to the stipulated rates and that overcharged fares are promptly refunded to passengers.
