Chief of the Naval Staff visits flood affected areas – Announced one day Navy’s ration for flood affectees

Karachi, August 09, 2015 (PPI-OT):Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah today visited various rescue sites and relief camps established by Pakistan Navy in the flood affected areas at District Shaheed Benazirabad to review the PN relief efforts being made under Operation “MADAD”. He was accompanied by Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Syed Bashir Ahmad.

The Naval Chief has announced donation of one day’s ration of PN personnel for flood affectees. The announcement came at a time when Pakistan Navy has already embarked upon major flood relief efforts under Operation “MADAD”. 54 tons of relief goods have already been distributed by PN amongst the flood affectees. This additional donation will now be distributed amongst the flood affectees of far flung areas where the help has not reached so far.

During his visit, the Naval Chief was given a detailed briefing by Commander Marines on PN rescue and relief efforts. He was apprised that top priority is being accorded to the relief efforts and all available resources are being utilized to provide necessary assistance to the flood affectees.

Chief of the Naval Staff expressed his satisfaction over the relief activities. He directed Commander Coast to closely monitor the flood situation and continue rescue and relief efforts till complete rehabilitation of the affectees by judiciously utilizing the deployed assets and resources with unswerving diligence. He was also briefed on the current flood state by the representatives of civil Administration and PDMA.

Later, the Naval Chief visited PN relief and medical camp and witnessed the ongoing relief activities. He assured the flood victims that Pakistan Navy would provide all possible help to the flood affectees in this hour of need and make all out efforts for their rehabilitation.
