CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Advances Healthcare and Development Initiatives in Punjab

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif presided over the fifth meeting of the Standing Committee of Cabinet on Finance and Development (SCCFD), where she directed the enhancement of financial autonomy for local commissioners, deputy commissioners, and revenue secretaries. She also approved various recruitment measures and developments in healthcare and public services in Punjab.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the SCCFD meeting led to several key approvals, including the establishment of a Bone Marrow Transplant Center in Punjab, a topic Sharif emphasized for review. The committee also sanctioned recruitment for vacant positions in the Health Information and Service Delivery Unit and the Punjab Transport Company, as well as for entomologists across the province.

Further developments included the approval of an Architecture Allowance for employees of the Punjab Architecture Department and an increase in commission allowance for Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) employees. The committee also endorsed the purchase of bikes for the Model Bazar Home Delivery Project and extended a contract with the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Trust (RTEHT) for the management of regional blood centers in Multan and Bahawalpur for an additional year.

Additionally, the SCCFD approved an increased grant for the Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases and agreed to rename the Government Public Library Roshan Bhila Kasur to Javed Mahmood Public Library Roshan Bhila.

The meeting was attended by notable figures such as Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman, along with other high-ranking officials and secretaries.
