Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Pledges to Foster Environment for Foreign Investment in Pakistan

Islamabad: In a significant move to enhance foreign investment, particularly from Malaysian traders, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal has committed to creating a conducive business environment. This assurance came during a meeting with Malaysian Minister for Investment, Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the dialogue between the two ministers highlighted the potential for growth in bilateral trade. Minister Kamal emphasized the recent policy adjustments made by Pakistan, including the removal of the Minimum Export Price for rice, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of Pakistani exporters.

Furthermore, Minister Kamal reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to maintaining high halal standards to facilitate access to the Malaysian market, recognizing the importance of these standards in trade relations with Malaysia.

On his part, the Malaysian Minister for Investment, Trade, and Industry reassured that Malaysia is committed to simplifying trade procedures for Pakistani businesses, which is expected to encourage further investment and deepen economic ties between the two countries.
