CPEC’s Second Phase Emphasizes Business Ties Between Pakistan and China

Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb highlighted the potential business impact of the strengthening Pakistan-China relations, which hold strategic importance.

According to Radio Pakistan, in an exclusive interview with correspondent Zafar Iqbal Mayo, Aurangzeb shared that the government recently introduced its inaugural Panda Bond, marking Pakistan’s entry into the Chinese capital markets. He discussed the progression of economic cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing that while the first phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) focused on infrastructure development, the current phase is centered around enhancing business-to-business relationships.

Aurangzeb also mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit China next week, accompanied by a high-level delegation, indicating the ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
