Delegation of Multan bar Association Met the Prime Minister

Islamabad: A delegation of Multan Bar Association called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at Prime Minister’s House today and appreciated his appearance in Supreme Court which is tantamount to holding judiciary in high esteem and also his commitment to rule of law and imperatives of due process.

They assured the Prime Minister that lawyer community of Multan would support the government in its endeavours to strengthen democracy and rule of law in the country.

The Prime Minister appreciated lawyer community’s struggle for rule of law, restoration of constitution and democracy in the country. The Prime Minister said that restoration of rights of people and democracy was greatly due to their struggle along with the Pakistan People’s Party leadership and its workers.

The Prime Minister said that this democratic government was following policy of reconciliation as given by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. This policy has been very successful as for reaching political decisions with consensus like the 18th amendment ,NFC award and renaming of KPK, added the Prime Minister.

The lawyers who met the Prime Minister included Sheikh Ghayas-ul-Haq advocate, Mr. Farhan Abbas Gilani, advocate, Mr. Feroz Faiz, advocate, Sheikh. Ateeq-Ur-Rehman, advocate, Mr. Shams-ul-haq Khan, advocate, Malik Niaz Adil advocate, Mr. Jodat Rehan, advocate, Mr. Nasir Hussain Haideri, advocate, Mr.Abdul Rauf khan Lodhi, advocate and Ch. Yaseen advocate. Kh.Rizwan Alam, was also present during the meeting.
