Deputy Prime Minister Dar Advocates Economic Diplomacy at Foreign Service Academy Graduation

Islamabad: The graduation ceremony of the 43rd Specialized Diplomatic Course at the Foreign Service Academy was held today, with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar addressing the new diplomats and emphasizing the shift towards economic diplomacy in Pakistan’s foreign policy.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister Dar, who served as the chief guest, distributed certificates and awarded medals to top performers, stressing the critical role of economic strategies in the realm of global and regional politics. He advocated for a reorientation from traditional diplomatic approaches to ones that prioritize economic growth and development, highlighting the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora.

Dar also emphasized the importance of equipping young diplomats with the necessary skills to promote trade, investment, and tourism, urging them to serve overseas Pakistanis impartially, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic backgrounds. Furthermore, Ambassador Ahmed Hussain Dayo, Director General of the Foreign Service Academy, reiterated the institution’s commitment to excellence in diplomatic training, noting its role in educating over 1,554 foreign diplomats from 120 countries.
