Faisalabad: Dr. Tabassam Sultana, Principal of the Government Graduate College for Women in Faisalabad, is facing disciplinary action under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act (PEEDA) of 2006, following various allegations including financial misconduct.

According to Higher Education Department – Government of The Punjab, the inquiry has substantiated some charges against Dr. Sultana, specifically the illegal withholding of Rs. 140,000 from a complainant, Mr. Muhammad Saleem. The inquiry found her action constituted serious administrative misconduct, although she returned the withheld amount later. Other allegations, including deliberate financial loss to Mr. Saleem due to non-utilization of facilities for a college event and unprofessional behavior towards staff, were not proven.

Dr. Sultana has been issued a show-cause notice and is required to appear for a personal hearing. The notice stresses that her failure to provide a satisfactory explanation could lead to further penalties, which may include restrictions on holding any administrative or financial positions.
