Displaced Muslim Families Demand Restoration of Relief in Jammu

Jammu: Several Muslim families gathered outside the office of the Relief Commissioner to demand the immediate restoration of relief for displaced persons.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the protesting families reported that relief for 1,251 Muslim displaced families in Jammu was halted 18 months ago under the pretext of verification.

The families stated that, to date, the relief remains suspended, with some families selectively receiving aid while others continue to endure hardships.

The protesters called for transparency in the verification process and sought clarity on the progress made thus far. They urged authorities to reinstate the relief immediately for the families whose verification has been completed.

The demonstrators committed to continuing their protest until their demands are addressed, emphasizing the severe challenges faced by displaced families due to the suspension of relief, particularly affecting Muslim families.
