Ebad for up gradation of Safari Park

Karachi: The governor Sindh on Saturday directed that a complete plan for the up gradation of Safari Park be drawn up to develop it according to international standards.

Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan said that renovation of Safari Park was done, which included setting up enclosures for elephants and peacocks, a bird aviary and establishment of a modern library. He also stressed that citizens visiting the park be provided more facilities in the form of better security.

On a visit to the park and mausamyat road, he mentioned that construction and development work in the city was underway. About four and a half kilometre long mausamyat road, costing Rs167million, was also completed, he added.

He was accompanied by the Provincial Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani, Minister for Health Sindh Dr Sagheer Ahmed, and Minister for Industries Sindh Rauf Siddiqui, Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed, Senior Director Sports and Culture Muhammad Rehan Khan and Director Safari Park Salman Shamsi.

Administrator KMC said that the safari was established in the 1970 and held up to 500 animals with eleven closures each for different kinds of species.
