Islamabad, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today across Pakistan with immense religious fervor and zeal. The festival, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, is observed with special congregations, prayers, and greetings among the community.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Eid congregations are taking place at various locations including open places, mosques, and Eidgahs in all villages, towns, and cities across the country. In these gatherings, special prayers are being offered for the nation’s development and prosperity, as well as for the liberation of Muslim territories under occupation, including Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
The capital city of Islamabad hosted its main Eid congregation at the Faisal Mosque, attended by government officials, foreign diplomats, and the general public. President Asif Ali Zardari offered his Eid prayers in Nawabshah, where he also engaged with people and exchanged Eid greetings.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif observed the Eid prayer at Model Town, Lahore, joining special prayers for the safety, peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and the unity of the Muslim Ummah. Following the prayers, the Prime Minister interacted with the attendees, sharing Eid greetings.
In a notable interaction, President Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif exchanged Eid greetings through a telephonic conversation, wishing each other well.
Interior Minister Senator Mohsin Naqvi, offering Eid prayers in Lahore, emphasized remembering the less fortunate during the festivities and highlighted the ongoing atrocities against Kashmiris and Palestinians.
In Karachi, the day’s main congregation was held at the old polo ground, where Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, along with ambassadors from various Muslim countries and other dignitaries, offered Eid prayers. Governor Tessori extended his Eid wishes to the nation.
Peshawar’s Governor Haji Ghulam Ali and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur offered their Eid prayers in Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan, respectively. Special prayers were made for the security, peace, and prosperity of Pakistan, the unity of the Muslim Ummah, and the liberation of occupied territories.
