Karachi, June 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): Managing Director Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Misbahuddin Farid speaking to KW and SB officers and employees said that KW and SB is a public service institution and it is our utmost priority to ensure swift supply to the citizens of Karachi. It is our duty to ensure that we work together with honesty and hard work for stability of the department. He was speaking to the officers and employees during his visit to KW and SB head office near Civic Centre.
He directed all Deputy Managing Directors to motivate Officers and Employees working under their command to perform their duties with honesty in order to ensure that citizens of Karachi get exceptional services. He also spoke about the problems KW and SB is currently facing and emphasized on the need of financial discipline within the institution.
He also emphasized that an effective strategic policy must be formulated to ensure that KW and SB decreases its expenditure. He said that we must ensure that we transform KW and SB in a exceptional institution by all means possible.
He directed Officers and Doctors of Medical Department to take extra precautions while approving bills and discourage fake bills. They must also monitor the use of medical facilities through hospitals on the KW and SB panel list. He said that we must not deny the right to medical services to any employee who needs it but at the same time fake bills must be discouraged. He said that it has been observed that at time fake bills were also approved.
He said that Finance Department is also one of the most important departments of the institution and officers and employees working in this department must ensure that they abide by the timing schedule and rules. He emphasized that special attention must be given to the payment of pension to retired employees of KW and SB since they have served KW and SB and the citizens of Karachi throughout their lives and it is now our duty to take care of their problems and ensure that they don’t face financial troubles.
M.D KW and SB directed that all KW and SB staff and officers must ensure their attendance and abide by the office timings furthermore; negligence would not be tolerated and salaries would be deducted if anyone is found negligent.
He said that departmental heads must take attendance on daily basis along with listening to public complaints to ensure that KW and SB takes all measure possible to serve the citizens. He said that serving the citizens of Karachi is our duty and all officers and employees must embrace this duty. We have to vow that we will work together for the betterment of the institution and make KW and SB an exceptional institution.
