Fatal Shoot-Out at Medical College in Jammu Claims Police Officer and Civilian

Karachi, A violent confrontation at Government Medical College in Kathua district, Jammu, resulted in the deaths of an Indian police officer and a civilian, with additional injuries to police personnel. The incident, occurring late last night, involved an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and individuals described by police as gangsters.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the clash began around 10:35 pm, leading to immediate casualties and panic at the medical institution. The deceased civilian’s identity remains undisclosed, while the law enforcement community mourns the loss of Police Sub-Inspector Deepak Sharma, who died from his injuries after being moved to Amandeep Hospital in Pathankot for treatment. Special Police Officer Anil Kumar also sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.

The shoot-out has prompted calls for a thorough investigation to understand the events leading to this deadly exchange and to assess the response of the police forces involved.
