Islamabad: In a significant gathering at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters today, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, reviewed strategies for achieving this financial year’s revenue targets, welcoming new leadership, and acknowledging past contributions.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting was attended by key figures including the State Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Ali Pervez Malik, the newly appointed Chairman of the FBR, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and other senior officials. The Minister praised the efforts of former Chairman FBR Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, particularly highlighting his pivotal role in the budgeting process and negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
During the session, Member Inland Revenue (Operations), Mir Badshah Khan Wazir, and Member Customs (Operations), Mr. Ashhad Jawwad, provided comprehensive presentations on their respective areas, focusing on tactics to enhance the board’s efficiency in tax collection and expand the tax base. The discussions aimed at fostering sustained economic development through improved revenue collection strategies.
The Federal Minister expressed confidence in the new Chairman’s capabilities to lead the FBR towards achieving its financial objectives, appreciating the ongoing efforts of the FBR team to maximize revenue and broaden the tax base for sustained economic growth.
