Islamabad, Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain announced that the federal government is coordinating with provincial authorities to guarantee a steady supply of fertilizer to farmers. This initiative is aimed at supporting agricultural productivity and addressing issues related to fertilizer distribution.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Rana Tanveer Hussain stated that a mechanism is being developed to monitor real-time stock availability of fertilizer, ensuring that the supply chain remains stable. The Minister emphasized that unjust profit margins on urea fertilizer would not be tolerated, indicating a commitment to addressing market abuses that could harm farmers.
The Minister also urged fertilizer companies to provide facilities that would benefit farmers, ultimately contributing to increased agricultural productivity. By enhancing the support provided to farmers, the government aims to bolster the agricultural sector, which plays a crucial role in Pakistan’s economy.
The new mechanism is expected to improve transparency in the fertilizer supply chain and reduce instances of hoarding and price gouging, ensuring that farmers have access to the resources they need for successful crop production.
