Federal Government Pledges Full Support to Strengthen KP’s Counter Terrorism Department

Islamabad: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced that the federal government will provide full support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government in strengthening its Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). This declaration comes in response to the recent law and order challenges in the province, particularly in the southern districts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a media briefing in Peshawar, Tarar highlighted the KP government’s responsibility to address these challenges. He specifically referred to a recent incident in Bannu, criticizing political elements that he claimed exploited the situation for political gains. The Minister expressed his concerns about the security situation in the southern parts of KP and stressed the provincial government’s critical role in maintaining peace.
