Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with representatives from K-Electric, led by CEO Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, to discuss improvements in service delivery and electricity generation in Karachi. The meeting aimed to address ongoing challenges and implement strategies to reduce electricity costs in the city.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the discussions, K-Electric highlighted the progress made under a recent agreement with the government, which resolved several operational issues and set the stage for new generation projects. However, concerns about delayed payments of consumer bills collected through the post office were also raised.
Minister Aurangzeb reassured the K-Electric team that the government would address the issue of delayed payments promptly. He emphasized the need for K-Electric to focus on improving service delivery and expediting the integration of cheaper generation capacity to reduce electricity costs for Karachi’s consumers.
