Finance Minister Calls for Swift Categorization of State-Owned Enterprises

Islamabad, In a move to streamline the management and efficiency of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has directed relevant ministries to submit proposals for the categorization of SOEs by May 20. This directive was issued during a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises focused on the implementation of the State-Owned Enterprises Policy 2023.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the minister emphasized the importance of timely submissions to ensure that the categorization aligns with the national goals of economic reform and improved governance. This process is crucial for enhancing the operational efficiency and financial performance of SOEs as part of broader economic reforms being implemented by the government.
